How do I get started working with a Buyer's Agent?
Buyers Answers
You'd never get married before dating. In the same way, we need to talk and go out together before entering into an Agency Agreement. That's our time to get to know each other and determine whether there's a fit between us.
Drop us an email or give us a call to get the ball rolling. If you send an email, it's helpful if you include any listings you've found on the internet that have caught your eye (you can search all the homes on the Multiple Listing Service right here on our web site). We generally like to talk on the phone for 15 or 20 minutes to get a good feel for what you're looking for. We'll email you some listings that we think you'll find appealing, and then we'll talk or email back and forth a few times about what you like and don't like. We'll also make plenty of suggestions and give you some ideas and areas you might not have thought about yet.
At that point, we'll make an appointment for you to come see some houses or drive through different areas that might be attractive to you. While we are looking at houses, we're also checking each other out to see if there is a fit between us. Buying a house is a huge financial investment, and you'll want to make sure you are totally comfortable with your agent.
If you decide to retain us as your Exclusive Buyer's Agent, there is no upfront fee or retainer. We are paid at closing out of the Seller's proceeds of sale. Our agreements are typically for 6 months, but you are always free to cancel at anytime if you feel we aren't doing a good job representing you.
